July is a wonderful month to enjoy the long warm days, the lush green countryside and blue skies

As the middle of summer is an idyllic time to experience the balmy days, and perfect and pretty butterflies!

Village fetes take place alongside music festivals in manicured parks and cricket matches on quaint greens

And Wimbledon begins after the excitement and warm up tournament of the smaller and more intimate Queens.

Productions of The Wizard of Oz and Everybody’s Talking About Jamie take place in the nearby Town Hall

And the Sodbury Fest is back with more family fun, live music and entertainment, and the odd food stall!

The Chipping Sodbury Book Fair takes place with a chance for book lovers to browse and enjoy a good mystery

And slightly further afield The Bristol Harbour Festival celebrates its community spirit and diverse history!

August is one of the biggest months for arts, culture, seasonal delights and music in the UK, Highlighted by carnivals, seaside events, outdoor celebrations and a welcome bank holiday! The eat:Chipping Sodbury fabulous food festival takes place in the High Street with the aim To connect the community with the local productive landscape showcasing their hall of fame. Over 70 food and drink makers, brewers and bakers will be there along with entertainers, Covering all aspects of street and treat food, with nearby farmers, growers and campaigners! Not too far away at Berkeley Castle over the bank holiday weekend, the fortress is transformed Into a lively and roaring arena with incredible horsemanship and intense battles being performed The Bristol International Balloon Fiesta is also happening producing 3 days of magic for your eyes With the sky full of colourful hot air balloons creating breathtaking views floating across the sunrise! Let’s savour the last of the lazy summer days and the scent of blooming flowers filling the air, And enjoy the sun-drenched meadows or unwind on a tranquil riverbank in nature’s fab fanfare!

Halfway through the year already as we welcome the month of July and its stunning lazy days, And look forward to family time, and either holidays overseas or easy UK based home stays. So much is happening again from the massive 12-hour extravaganza of the Sodbury Fest With local ales, food stalls, and performances from bands like the Groove Jacks and all the rest! The Shooting Stars are putting on an energetic production of the Queen’s musical We Will Rock You, Plus at nearby Badminton the RHS Flower Show takes place with designer show gardens to view. Wimbledon kicks off once again with its manicured courts, weather talk, and strawberries and cream As we discuss heatwaves and having to reshuffle our lives around shade and the pesky Jetstream! So let’s enjoy this wonderful month with the lavender fields at their best and sunflowers too, With berries ripening in the hedgerows and farms accompanied by some bubbles and a corkscrew!

A month famous for the start of summer proper marked by the solace, festivals and sporting events Such as Royal Ascot and Wimbledon plus the King’s Birthday Parade and all the pomp that it represents. We are into full picnic and bbq season with hopefully wonderfully warm weather and long hazy lazy days To compliment the many village fetes and fairs as we enjoy the social get togethers and pleasant rays! Oasiz are back in town with a tribute act like no other showcasing their famous swagger and biggest hits, And By the Woods Craft Fair takes place selling local crafts, jewellery, art and woodwork and handmade knits! So let’s just enjoy this radiant month capturing the glowing sunshine, and the uplifting early summer feeling, With carefree days and the peak of nature’s growth which makes this month so joyful and appealing!
