Awesome April!

April feels like the month where we sit up a little straighter – not yet fully sprung but not wrapped up in an emotional fleece,

With the end of the relentless wet and grey days in sight as nature gets ready for its colourful showpiece!

Let’s forget about soup stains on jumpers, bank balances squinting and energy levels vanishing by 3pm or even before,

As we think of inching out of hibernation, looking forward to warmer times and seeing our motivation simply soar!

We have the long Easter weekend to look forward to with chocolate eggs to enjoy plus Parades and a time to reflect,

With family and friends as we also tuck into hot cross buns and roast lamb, plus sports and games and decorations to inspect!

In Chipping Sodbury The Sodbury Yarn Over takes place with over 50 exhibitors showcasing knitting, spinning and crochet,

Plus the town tenner’s back promoting all the lovely shops in the High Street and encouraging everyone to spend money all day!

Our House is being performed at the Town Hall, as well as a Jersey Boys tribute act and the ‘That 80’s Rock Show’

Presenting an unforgettable night of big hair, big riffs and even bigger anthems sung with energy, enthusiasm and gusto!

So why not pay a visit to The Moda House and the town and enjoy all this plus Chamber music and Kokomo singing soul,

And let go for a few hours and share the joy of music making whether it is classical, disco or simply rock and roll!

As we approach the ‘love’ month, Christmas seems like a dream and distant memory, and resolutions are floundering and broken With plans and projects, perhaps too big, vague and unrealistic, put to one side with reasons being left unspoken! February is a short month and can be a sluggish, dark and languishing one, but we can also catch our proverbial breath, Shake off those failed resolutions, pick up strength for new habits and wash away the old ones and put them all to death! As usual there is much happening in Chipping Sodbury Town Hall with Dire Streets performing a show with their classic studio tracks, And an ultimate popstar experience for Swifties and Stylers showcasing a dancing and singing tribute show with a stunning climax! Tony is also on stage as Robbie Williams leaving audiences gagging for more with onlookers asking ‘Is it or isn’t it’, And Vicky Jackson and her band return with their authentic tribute to P!NK wowing everyone with her energy, bespoke costumes and grit! So whilst it can seem like a difficult month getting fed up with waking up on cold, dark mornings, removing ice and snow from the car, We can also begin to feel the days getting a little longer and can anticipate the first snowdrops pushing through and the prettiest sight by far!

As one year ends the beginning of another is like an invitation – a gentle, hopeful invitation to begin again And to take stock and have a moment to look back at what mattered most and to reconnect with your brain! January is definitely the month to hibernate on the sofa with a cuppa whilst plotting big dreams and passion projects, And to have time to think about the future and what you don’t want to do and what you DO want to do next! The Sodbury Players are back in action with a Snow White pantomime for all to enjoy the slapstick and cross-dressing parts, And also at the Town Hall there is a tribute act showcasing the legendary hits of Genesis and Phil Collins that touched our hearts. So let’s get on with fresh starts and make the shift from holiday cheer to the reality of winter weather and possibly the January blues, And embrace the time for reflection, planning and setting goals, being kinder and only doing things that we want and choose!
